Canadian Rockies (September 6, 1999 - September 17, 1999)
I regret that I did not visit the Canadian Rockies while I was studying
in Canada. In 1999, I finally had the chance the visit this beautiful
place. |

Calgary, Alberta
The closest place (with an international airport) to get into
the Canaidan Rockies is from Calgray. Calgary is the second
largest city in Alberta. (The largest is City in Alberta is
Edmonton.) The city is famous for the oil business. There
are a few attractions in the city. The Calgary Tower is the
tallest building in the city. I also took a short visit to
Saddle Dome. The Saddle Dome is a stadium and is the home
of the Calgary Stampeders (CFL football team) and Calgary
Flames (NHL hockey team) |

Banff, Alberta
The journey of the Canadian Rockies begins at Banff townsite.
One of the must-sees in Banff is the Sulphur mountain. Cable
cars will take you to the top of this mountain, where you
can get a panoramic view of the whole town and the surrounding
areas. |

Lake Louise, Alberta
Lake Louise is on of the most beautiful lakes in the Canadian
Rockies. The water color in the lake is blue. If the wind
is not strong, you can clearly see the reflection of the mountains
in the water. |

| |
Athabasca Glacier, Alberta
The Athabasca Glacier is the largest glacier in the Canadian
Rockies. You can even take a ride up the glacier on the Snocoach
- a special locomotive that can climb on the glacier.

It is located in the Vancouver Island. |

Vancouver, British Columbia
The last stop of this trip is Vancouver. Vancouver does not
have that many tourist attractions. One of them is the Stanley
Park. In the park, you can enjoy various sporting activities
including biking, jogging, roller-blading, etc. Here is a
picture taken at the park. You can see the harbour front of
Vancouver.
